Internet
When searching "Social working websites" the search results came up with a total of 11,743 results. When looking at the list of social networking websites the total number of websites listed is around 200. I've heard of many of these sites and only go on facebook, although I've been on myspace. I don't know of any sites that aren't listed here. I've never heard of College Tonight but it appears to be a social networking site aimed at college students, graduates, and alumni that encourages interactivity. To "use" social networking sites you first need to sign up to the site you are on and after signing up you need to fill in certain information about yourself and then look up or make friends that are on the site you are on. The site(s) I currently use is Facebook however i usually only go on it to comment people occasionally or to comment people back. Social networking has never gotten me in trouble but it has let me get in touch with people that have moved and such.

Television
-Length: 9:12
-Description: This video shows varies different ways that gender stereotypes is used and shown in media.
-Chapter 9: Television
-Question: Describe three different ways that gender stereotyping was shown in this video.
-Answer: Gender stereotyping was used to advertise a product. This was shown many times in the video, one being a house wife stereotype for the Electrolux commercial, portrayal of how girls should be raised to become a house wife in the Rose Petal Cottage commercial, and males should smell like "men" and not "girly" in the Old Spice commercial. Another use shown was the use of portraying that males naturally think they are superior then females. In the Anchorman and Million Dollar Baby clip it showed that the Male character was a male stereotype that believed that males are naturally better, smarter, stronger, etc. A third way that gender stereotypes was shown was in the Daily Show clip that showed that unfortunately there are women in the world that think they are inferior to men and that men are the ones that should be commanding and such.

Movies or Recordings
My favorite movie so far that has been in theaters this year is District 9. This movie is probably one the the best movies I've ever seen, in enjoyment and for the just generally being well made. This movie had a very interesting and intriguing story that is different the most other movies of the same genres. It is unexpected and isn't flooded with lazy, stereotypical movie cliches. The special affects are fantastic, and its works looks genuine and realistic. What many people may be skeptical about is that in the beginning it heavily emulates a documentary style filming with interviews and such. That style soon fades away and progressively becomes more of "standard" movie screenplay but with the filming style staying somewhat the same. So if you are worried it will be annoying to watch like The Blair Witch Project or Cloverfield then don't be because everything is done well and it is easy on the eyes. It actually has a "soul" and isn't another BS Hollywood movie.

Books
The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger - This book is one of my favorite books because of the way it was written and the content. It is very controversial due to the stories portrayal of profanity, sexual experiences and other teenage things. A lot of the experiences that the main character, Holden, goes through can be related to most teenagers. So as a teenager myself reading this book in High School there was some stuff that I could relate to and found fascinating on how Holden dealt with them.
Night by Elie Weasel - I found this book to be much more influential then The Dairy of Ann Frank due to the fact that it was actually about a Jewish boys experiences with concentration camps. It was compelling to read about Eliezer’s struggle to keep his faith in God while going through the terrible experiences brought to him by the Nazis.
The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald - What I enjoyed about this book was the interesting themes of moral decay. The American Dream was something that began to become a corrupt belief and greed and materialism began to take hold of people. What I enjoyed about this book was that I was able to compare and contrast the themes of moral and social decay to that of the 21st century. American is a place where many people are very materialistic and social values are changing drastically, so when reading The Great Gatsby I was interested in reading about what these themes were like in the 1920s.

Media Impact
A media research project I propose is one based around the effects of video games. I will be researching how violence in video games have an effect on people depending on the subjects background. What I would do is research two people who play video games equally, one who is known to be violent and another who isn't. I will ask them what kind of video games they play and what kind of activities they did as younger children. What I predict is that if both subjects have not experienced violence as younger children and both play violent video games then violent video games have little to no effect on people.

Media Autobiography
Throughout a lot of peoples lives they have most likely been involved with mass media in some way. This entry will I will be discussing my personal experiences with books, newspapers, magazines, movies, recordings, radio, television, and the Internet. Books for many people, especially myself, is a form of media that a lot of people take for granted and aren't a top priority in a source of entertainment. When growing up book have been something I would usually only read if they had pictures in them or have been assigned by the teacher to read. As a child reading a book without pictures was very boring, so when it was time to do a book report the first thing that would come to mind is that I hope I find something short to read. Part of this is because unlike many other kids when I first went to school in Kindergarten I didn't know how to read. Thus I was to be taught how to by the higher grade kids, mainly 5th and 6th grade. It was a real struggle at first but by the time I was in 4th grade it turned out that my reading skill level was that of a 6th grader. Still even today unfortunately when thinking of a source of entertainment books would be fairly low on the list.
As far as newspapers go I don't have much experience with this other then reading the comics section. If it counts for anything what I do try to read on occasion would be online news articles. Aside from newspapers though I used to enjoy looking through magazines. Why? There were pictures in them. Magazines always had a nice feel to the paper which enhanced the reading experience. This however was when I was a kid, today I don't read any magazines at all. I tend to usually get all my informational needs from the Internet which will be discussed later.
Movies have always been an amazing thing to see. From when I was a kid to now and in the future I will always enjoy movies. Going to the theaters was and still is a great way to see a movie. Having a home theaters system though could possibly be better but since I have yet to experience this I'm just going to say that the theaters is the best way to see a movie. As for the material at hand, something I don't enjoy usually is a movie that has no substance. A good movie to me is one that has an enjoyable mix of story and presentation. Movies such as Transformers 1 and 2, which to me was just a series of explosions and in the case of 2, explosions, tasteless toilet humor and sexual innuendos, is something I don't enjoy. What I did enjoy was this summers District 9, which had an extraordinary presentation and story to match. Movies like these are the kind of movies I highly enjoy.
I'm not so sure what is being asked for when recordings comes up so I'll just say this, I haven't listened to any audio books or journals. I have heard varies recordings from famous figures such as presidents and such. If music counts as recordings then I love it and listen to it when ever I get the chance. I don't listen to the radio anymore because I don't like a lot of the new music. My dislikes for music is anything that is shallow which to me would be most rap, hip-hop, modern rock, and certain country. Due to this I don't get the chance to listen to any radio talk shows.
Another thing I don't get into anymore would be television. I haven't turned on my T.V. since freshman year of High School. There's no particular reason to this aside from that I just don't feel like turning it on and watch anything. If there is a T.V. show I want to watch then I generally use the Internet for that. The Internet is my main source of mass media as I get my music, news, and entertainment from it. The Internet is great because from when it was made to now it has accumulated so much information that it would be hard not to find something your looking for.
