Media Impact
A media research project I propose is one based around the effects of video games. I will be researching how violence in video games have an effect on people depending on the subjects background. What I would do is research two people who play video games equally, one who is known to be violent and another who isn't. I will ask them what kind of video games they play and what kind of activities they did as younger children. What I predict is that if both subjects have not experienced violence as younger children and both play violent video games then violent video games have little to no effect on people.

I think that another key factor to determining how people react to violence in media is to take a look at their personality. If a person is a strong minded individual who is more of a leader than a follower I doubt that they will be prone to mimicing what they see. If they have low self confidence and are eager for attention then they might act out what they see, just because they feel it is "cool."

dude I love the idea. I am a total gamer myself and I would have to agree that age plays a big role. When I was younger I wanted to role play what I was doing in the games, run around with toy guns, play cops and robbers. I kinda realize now that im older that games like that really desensitizes us to graphic horrific things making them not as a big deal and more considerable to do in real life. You know that there is a problem when realism and fantasy land are starting to look pretty similar! good luck with that study
